THE WILHELMJ CONCERTS.
The last concert of thU most enjoyable season was very fine, as every concert most bo which bos the Kraut zsr Sonata on its pro* gramme. In the interpretation of thin splendid work the two artists were, as on a previous occasion, most successful. Hen Wilhelmj again showed himself a king among violinists, and Mr Vogrioh proved that he can play Beethoven In splendid style. The other violin numbers were the “Otello” Fantaisie, a '‘Polonaise” of Oho;in, and i nocturne of the same anther, the one with the religious air, which Herr Wilhelmj play* with such splendid richness of the lower note*. ' Mite Conron repeated her giaod rendering of the lino air from Lucrezia, and Cowan's "Better Lend," we notice " by r*quest.” She also sang Mattei’a "Hon e ver,” which does not suit her, and (in re* •pons© to encores) a verse of " Dresden China ” very daintily, and a song of Schubert with great feeling, Mr Vogrich achieved a great success with a movement of the "Sonata Appassionata,” leaving ns to desire more, Liszt’s " Etude* ” he played so well that a most pronounced encore fol* lowed, to which he responded with one of Schubert’s most brilliant compositisne, played with the greatest delicacy and gcod testa. Liszt’s transcription of a Funeral March of Schubert’* was not by any means the least enjoyable of the numbers contributed by this artist. The concert was, as we have said, one of the most enjoyable of the season. W ton wo say we feel sorry that the season is over, and when wo add that nothing is left for ua but to express onr regret at having to bid farewell to Herr Wilhelmj and his talented associates, we feel sure that wo represent the sentiments of their many admirers who have attended this most pleasant series of concerts.
