BURGLARY IN OTAKI.

MESSES ALLAN AND CO.’S PREMISES BROKEN INTO. Late on Friday night, or early on Saturday morning, the business premises of Messrs Allan and Co.’s were burglariously entered, a suit, shirts, hats, caps, sox., etc., to the value of about £2O taken. The lock of the island window had evidently been forced open by a bar, and the window, which had only that, day been dressed, entered and the articles taken. Constable Satherlcy had, about midnight, done his usual rounds,. and had tried practically every shop door along the street, including the one at Messrs Allan and Co.’s. This was found quite in order. He is at present making enquiries. The burglars had everything in their favour, the night being dark, while, on account of shortage of current, there were no street lamps alight.
