Baby Queen Contest.

The first count in the IhakaraIvoputaroa Baby Queen Carnival was taken to-day. It revealed that the Koputaroa Soldiers' Baby and the jSative Baby were in the lead, with the Levin Baby and the Ihakara Baby, running neck and neck, lying next. The exact position of the contestants was as follows :

Xoputaroa Soldiers' Baby 1 Native Baby 2 •Levin Baby 3 Ihakara Baby 4 The respective candidates were all the recipients of strong support and it is stated that some > alterations may be looked .for before next declaration. The Levin baby is reported to have a good deal in hand while Ihakara promises to throw out a strong challenge to the leaders during the week.
