Ur AicLeavey said the two letters appeared to be the result ol a neighbours' quarrel. ALudgway iiad been given permission to close the road some live years ago and evidently his complaint about the fowls had produced the'demand to have the road opened again.
The Chairman commented that it was a pity that the Council should have to" settle neighbour's quarrels. He suggested that the matter be left in (Jr McLeavey's hands.
"Am I insured?" asked Cr McLeavey amid laughter.
"That's one of the honours o: the position," added a Councillor
It was decided that Cr McLeavey and the Engineer take the matter in hand.
Cr Broadbelt, later in tlie meeting moved tliat Cr Murray assist Cr McLeavey (at tlie latter's request) to settle the trouble. They did not want to lose Cr McLeavey just yet.
"I in rather surprise! to 'ee Cv getting timid in his old age," said the chairman. The motion was carried.
