The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: At Levin on Tuesday we offered a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was a better enquiry for sheep, cattle selling at recent prices:—2 and 4 tooth ewes (good) 29s 6d, 2 and 4 tooth wethers (medium) 27a Gil, mixed age wethers (inferior) 23s Bd, small 2 tooth b.f. ewes 235, 15-18 months steers £7 Is to £8 (is, 2£ year steers £10 lis, springing heifers £7 7s 6d to £9 15s, heifers in milk £6 10s, cow in milk £12, pedigree yearling Jersey bull 12gns, bulls (potters) £9 10s to £11 10s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having offered a large yarding of sheep and cattle at their Levin sale on Tuesday. There was a marked improvement in the demand for all classes of stock, and practically the whole entry was cleared under the hammer. Quotations : Fat wethers to 31s lid, .fat ewes 29s 6d, 4 and G tooth wethers 28s 6d, forward wethers 27s> 4dto 29s 9d, medium woolly lambs 15s, cull lambs to lis, 3 year steers to £12,105, li year steers to £8 14s, yearling steers £4 10s to £6 15s, potter bulls £9 to £12.
