BOWLING.
The second of the series of triangular contests between the Fox. ton, Shannon and Levin Clubs was played on the Levin green yesterday, and resulted in a decisive win for the home team after a very pleasant and keen game on each rink. Two rinks each come from Foxton and Shannon, Levin suplying four teams, results were as follows:
Levin.- — Lancaster, Brougliton, Brown, Porteous (skip) 19 Foxton. —Lumsden, E. Walker, D. Wliibley, F. D. Wliibley (skip) 17 Levin.— Kirk, Holdaway, Harris, Pollock. 22 Foxton. —Large, Stewartf, Woods, Nye. 12 Levin.—Reading, Bull, Sulian, Jamieson (skip) 29 Shannon. —Carr, Hennessy, Butts, Stephenson (skip) 11 Levin.-Ingram, Young, Roe, Thomson (skip) 21 Shannon. —-Hook -Shankland, Gibson, Bilderbeck (skip) 19 Levin 91 Foxton and Shannon 59
This is Levin's second win in tlie series which places the local rinks in an advantageous position in the competition. The next round takes place on January 10 at Foxton.
A match for the Bowen Stars took place on the Levin Green on Tuesday, Holdaway and Brown (skip) challenging the holders, Roe and Thomson (skip) but being defeated by 22 to 16.
