.Members of the 'Levin Defence Rifle Club opened its season, on Saturday afternoon with a teams match, President v. Vive President. The afternoon was dull with fine rain at times •and, the light was not too good. A light wind made shooi/ug fomewhac tirioky a.t 500 yds., although taking itihe shooting as a whole if; was fairly good, for an opening day. President Bertram's team won the watch by 16 poimts Rifleman H. George, a new member of the Club, making a name for himself and also having a day out. He gete a leg-in for the trophies allotted for this series of trophy shooting. iHe ailse wins Ptesid'enli Bertram's Silver Cup and' holds it for sis months, and wins the special trophy given for the highest score for the diay with handicaps included. The conditions were seven shots and sighter at 200 and 500 yards and the following are the scores, 200 yds 500 yds Hdc. Total H. George 32 30 4 CO J. Munro 32 32 scr. 64 J.
