i * Otakij March 22, 1917. My Hear Children,—l am proud to say that in & little less than three months you have raised your ambulance for the Maori Contingent and one month's upkeep; £500 will be cabled to England this week and the i ambulance will be in France by Easter Sunday. But we have not quite finished yet. The upkeep of our ambulance for a. year will cost £1 o0 and 1 have promised that sum in England by July sth. Now, every child big or little, who has worked for his oilier 2s 6d, give 6d a month for tli3 next four months for the upkeep of our ambulance which is so badly needed just now. Some cards are still not in and I shall be glad of them as soon as possible, as every child's name is going to be printed and fra nisei «iml placed in each school. us stll go on saving our pennies t-i'l we get our £150. Think of our men who a'-e doing so much for you and for me to save our flag from a relentless foe and to obtain for us the birthrignt of our race—freedom. So children work on for the upkeep of our ambulance and remember that every child lVom seven years old can help to win iliis gieat war, although we can't all be soldier?. I shall be in Levin the first week in April to get the first sixpences.—Your sincere friend, NUK ST.
