Cromwell v. Wanaka
The Wanaka senior team, which had a bye, were given an opportunity of seeing their juniors in action playing Cromwell at Wanaka.
The match, which produced some good football, provided a very even tussle and ended in favour of Cromwell, who scored 8 points to Wanaka’s 5.
For Cromwell, G. Crabbe scored a try, J. Auld converted and kicked a penalty goal. For Wanaka, McLennan scored a try, and G. Studholme converted. With the Wanaka forwards and the Cromwell backs each dominating their department of the game, the half-time score was s—all.5 —all.
In the second spell Cromwell secured the lead when J. Auld kicked a penalty goal.' The Cromwell backs, J. Auld and Ck: Crabbc, and the Wanaka forwards, Loach and .1. Walsh, were always prominent. The referee was Mr H. A. Hallidav.
