W.D.F.F. Birthday Party

The Wanaka branch of the Women’s Division of Farmers’ Federation held a most delightful fifth birthday party, when, as the guests of Mr and Mrs Colin Tapley, they were taken for a cruise up Lake Wanaka. The party included visitors from Hawea and Tarras, as well as Mrs Radford, provincial executive representative from Cromwell.

The party landed on the return journey at Ruby Island, where the open air birthday party was held. After Mrs W. Manson, president, had welcomed the visitors and thanked Mrs Tapley, Miss Jopp, representing the Hawea branch, lit the candles on the lovely cake made by Mrs Aspinall. After Mrs Smith blew out the candles, Mrs Radford gave the Cromwell greetings and cut the cake.

A ramble on the island was followed by a treasure hunt. Mrs H. Hodgkinson was the winner.

As the Malibu returned to Wanaka the party thanked their hosts with musical honours.
