Veterans’ Day at Wanaka Golf Links
On Saturday, April 10, a veterans’ day was held on the Wanaka golf links, and amongst those present were Mr A. MeKegg, Mr and Mrs F. Collings, Mr D. T. Anderson, and Mr C. Ewing. Other ex-players joined the gathering at afternoon tea after {i very pleasant afternoon had been spent on the links.
The best men’s cards returned over 12 holes were: —H. E. Harris 65 —16 — 49, W. Ironside 57—7—50, C. Ewing 68 —16 —52, T. Allison 59 —7 —52, L. M. Farrant 59 —6—53, F. Collings 63 —10— 53, F. Jackson 06—7 —59, D. T. Anderson 75—16—59, M. Anderson 75 16—59, H. Kaye 83—16—67, I. Kane 90—16—74.
In the ladies’ section an L.G.U. Medal Match was played, and the best cards were: —
Mrs L. M. Farrant 102—27—75, Mrs H. Halliday 96—18—78, Mrs H. Harris 87 —8—79, Mrs W. Anderson 90—11 — 79, Mrs W. Scaife 109—27—82, Miss C. Renton 109 —27—82.
