STOCK SALE

Nearly 9000 head of sheep were put through the yards at the Cromwell saleyards last Tuesday, March 16. This included the 4000 head from Mount Albert, which were sold through Donald Reid and Co., this being one of the largest sheep sales in this district for some time. Top prices were: Four-tooth crossbreds, 47s (believed to bo one of the highest prices obtained in these yards); 24s 9d for crossbreds, 25s for medium Romney ewe lambs, 27s 6d for f. and f.m. crossbred ewes, 8s to 16s 6d for f. and f.m. half-bred ewes, 39s 3d for crossbred and four-tooth ewes, 35s for two-tooth crossbred ewes, 37s for tAvo, four and six-tooth ewes and 30s 3d for small half-bred two-tooth wethers.
