Increase in Regatta Entries
The Edmond Shield, competed for annually between Southland and Otago, will this year be rowed for on Lake Wakatipu and will be one of the main ©vents on the Queenstown Regatta programme. This will be the first time the race has been held on Wakatipu. When a meeting was held last week to finalise arrangements, entries showed an increase in comparison with last year. This will also be the first year there has been two entries for the interelub eight-oared race of two miles. Otago clubs competing are: —North End, Queen’s Drive, Otago, Port Chalmers and Oamaru. Southland clubs: —Awarua and Invercargill Railway.
