“Miss New Zealand” Visits Queenstown

“ Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places I have visited,” said Miss Mary Wootton, “ Miss New Zealand,” when interviewed by the Mail last week.

Miss Wootton, in her brief visit, was entertained by Captain and Mrs G, A. Herbert,

She visited Walter Peak and Mt. Nicholas by the launch Muritai and on Thursday night attended the Queenstown pictures. Miss Wootton was particularly impressed with the scenery she had seen and regretted that she could not stay longer. She departed for her home at Christchurch on Friday morning.

Prior to*her departure by plane for England on March 31, she will visit the West Coast and the North Island.
