Front* the File* of the Wakatip Mail OCTOBER, 1867. , Returns of sheep in the W akitip show there are some 12,500, and on the •runs within the same district 160,000. There are, also 500 head of cattle. The committee meeting of the Queenstown Cricket Club did not take place for the want of a Quorum, neither did the members meet for practice. The captain of the Fire Brigade also had the bell rung to muster his men for a little exercise, but seemingly it had no charms for them. Times are dull, is the cry of everybody, and nearly everybody, by his actions, says: u The less one has to do, the less he cares about doing anything.” A ! proclamation dated October 24, 1867, notifies that His„ Honour, the Superintendent has been pleased to divide the town into three wards — Lake, South, and North Wards. NOVEMBER, 1867 About' 100 tons of wool will leave the district this year, and the question ef available carriage for same is becoming a matter of anxiety. The value of this item of our product is about £19,000.
