BOWLING CLUB MEETING
A general meeting of the Arrow Bowling Club was held in the pavilion on Monday evening, February 3, when the finance committee presented a report on their activities over the last four months, the results being . very satisfactory, placing the club on a very sound financial footing. A grant from the Department of Internal Affairs of £75 under the Physical Welfare and Recreation Act was received. The president, Mr G. Ogilvie, on behalf of the club, expressed thanks to Mr T. L. Macdonald, M.P., and Mr Johnston, recreation officer, for the support given to their application.
A motion of commendation and thanks to the finance committee was passed, the president especially thanking the finance committee’s secretary, Mr E. J. Saunders, for his untiring efforts, stating that the success of the competition was mainly due to his work, as he had given over 200 hours of Ills time to the project. It was decided that the bank guarantors to the club be released, and a motion of appreciation entered in the minute book, and a letter of thanks to be forwarded to each guarantor. A meeting of the committee was then held. It was decided that a letter of thanks to Mr Puddle for making the plnggers be sent. Conciete posts for the gateways are to be made and the cyclone gates hung.
It was resolved that a Post Office Savings Bank account be opened to bank any surplus money on hand at the end of March. Other niatters of interest to the club were discussed, and a vote of thanks to the chair terminated a very happy meeting.
