Archdeacon Hamblett Addresses Rotary

The speaker at the weekly meeting of the Queenstown Eotary Club was Archdeacon W. A. Hamblett. His subject, “The Bible in the World To-day,” proved most informative. He said during the last war a determined effort was made in certain countries to destroy this great book, but he was pleased to say it was becoming more popular than ever and in Europe more and more were clamouring for the Bible. He spoke of the important work the Bible Societies were doing in the distribution of this greatest of all books.' The Plunket Society wrote informing the club that it had secured a site for its new building, plans for which had been prepared involving an expenditure of some £I4OO. President Eobins was appointed to act on the advisory committee which has been appointed to carry out the project. The overseas toast was proposed by Mr Grant Forbes and duly honoured.
