SALVATION ARMY
Officers Welcomed Queenstown residents welcomed Captain N. Pont and' Lieutenant J. Libeau at the Salvation Army Hall last Saturday night. Lieutenant Libeau was unable to be in attendance, but ai rived at Queenstown on Monday> Major Sawyer, Officer in Charge of the Invercargill Corps, addressed the gathering, followed by speeches of welcome by the Mayor (Dr W. A. Anderson), Dr J. D. Salmon, Yen. Arch Deacon Hamblett, Messrs E. E. Hopwood, J. Ingles, W. Hale, and Mrs Buchanan. Vocal' items were given by Mrs G. Buxton and Mr E. E. Hopwood. Captain Pont returned thanks after which refreshments were served.
