BOWLING

On Saturday, January 4, the Bannockburn Bowling Club held their New Year tournament, using the Cromwell green as well as their own. The heat of the day was very tiring for the bowlers, but in no way affected the standard of play. The semi-finals and finals were played at Bannockburn, the semi-finalists being:

Eusbatch (Cromwell), Saunders (Arrowtown), Ireland' (Arrowtown), and Taylor (Clyde). In the play-off Saunders and Eusbatch were the successful players. The final resulted in a win for Saunders (Arrowtown). New Year’s Day bowling tournament, held at Cromwell, was won by Eusbatch (Cromwell).

Cflyde bowling tournament held at Clyde on Friday, January 2, was won "by MeLean (Omakau).
