WEATHER
With the exception of a day or two during Christmas the weather was ideal for the numerous visitors who were in the district for the holiday season. The . heat generally was intense and up to f*6 degrees was recorded in the shade. One or two showers of rain have fallen since the New year, but these were needed for some of the crops and, were not of long enough duration to interfere with the visitors’ pleasure. A larger crowd than ever visited Wanaka this season, particularly campers, and camping was not restricted outside camping ground areas to avoid the congregation of large crowds in camping areas.
