SOCIAL EVENING FOR MISS BETTY ORD
A social evening which took the form of a dance interspersed with items and games was held at Ripponvale last Thursday evening in honour of Miss Betty Ord. Vocal items contributed were:—Mrs A. Sutherland (two songs), Tex Parata (a haka), Mallett family (a duet), Messrs J. Ritchie and W. Liddicoat (duet), Misses Jean Hamer and Joan Luff ell (duet), Gerald Warrick (solo), Misses Isla Hoad and Gaynor Mitchell (tap dancing). Mr Ritchie spoke on behalf of the guests, and Miss Ord, in reply, thanked those present for the evening and for gifts. Later in the evening the guest of the evening and her bridesmaid-to-be opened the gifts, which were displayed on the tables.
