QUEENSTOWN TENNIS CLUB
Official opening day for the Queenstown Tennis Club has been fixed for Labour Day, October 27, and a dance will follow in the evening. Mr G. Nelson has been elected president for the ensuing year, Mr C. M. Inglis being the retiring president. An invitation from the Arrowtown Tennis Club for members to attend the official opening day on October 25, at Arrowtown, has been received and members who intend attending should hand their names to the secretary of the Queenstown Club. The following are the subscriptions for the 1946-47 season: —Ladies, 10s; gentlemen, 17s 6d; juniors, 2s 6d. The following office-bearers were appointed at the annual meeting which was held on October 9: — President, Mr G. Nelson. Vice-presidents, Messrs W. Smith, Y. Vereoe and P. Marshall. Secretary and treasurer, Mr E. S. Birchall. General Committee, Misses E. Muir, J. Inder, Y. Fuller, M. McDowell, Messrs C. M. Inglis, J. Gibson, G. Nelson, E. S. Birchall. Match Committee, secretary, president and Miss E. Muir. Social Committee, G. Nelson, E. Birchall, J. Inder, C. Eobinson and J. McDonald. & Club captain. Deferred till opening day.
