FEDERATED FARMERS

On Tuesday last the Wakatipu branch of the Federated Farmers held the monthly meeting in the Lower Shotover Hall. The vice-president, Mr D, K. Eowe, presided over a large attendance of members. After the usual business had been transacted, Mr John Hunt, of Maungawera, addressed the meeting in explanation of the group-killing scheme for sheep forwarded to the works, which scheme was being sponsored by the Otago Provincial Executive. Mr Hunt amplified the advantageous points of the scheme and appealed to the branch to support the provincial executive in its negotiations. It was resolved to adopt the scheme, delegates being appointed to visit sectional areas of the district to enlist the full support of farmers.
