Wanaka Couples Chosen For Waltzing Championship

The Alexandra Highland Pipe Band held a dance in the Wanaka Hall on Friday evening for the purpose of selecting two couples to take part in the semifinal of the Otago Central Waltzing Championship at Cromwell. There was a good attendance at the dance and 22 couples took part in the competition, the two couples selected being Mr and Mrs M. Miller and Mr and Mrs A. Murphy. The judge stated that there were more entries in Wanaka than in the other centres, and that his task was a very difficult one, as the majority of couples who took part were all good dancers.. Music for the dance was supplied by McNamara's Band, of Cromwell.
