Fresh Snowfalls Attract Visitors to Coronet Peak Ground

Upwards of a hundred skiers visited Queenstown last week-end and took advantage of the freshly fallen snow on Coronet Peak skiground. Special conducted tours are being arranged, for each week-end by the Government Travel Service, as well as other companies, and these excursions have proved a great success. The Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Co., Ltd. ha.ve on display at present the trophies that arc to be competed for in August, when keen competition is assured from skiers from all over New Zealand. The company has also on display miniature souvenir ski sticks that visiting enthusiasts can secure in their own club colours at a reasonable price. A local resident who has been up north reports that the erection of the ski tow has created wide publicity.
