VALEDICTORY

On the eve of his departure from Queenstown, Mr F. N. Aldridge was met by members of the local Railway and Government and Tourist Office staff and members of the Lake Wakatipu Steamer Service. In making a presentation of a barometer, Captain G. A. Herbert, officer-in-charge, spoke of the sterling qualities and the goodwill that had existed during Mr Aldridge’s seven years as senior clerk in the office.

Captain T. R. Luckie spoke on behalf of the deck staff of the service, and Mr E. A. H. George, on behalf of the engine room staff, and Mr L. Forde for the office. All endorsed the remarks of the first speaker. Mr Aldridge suitably replied.
