PERSONAL Mrs George Paulin is on an extended holiday with relatives in Dunedin. * * * Miss Miriam Tripp (Dunedin), is staying with Miss Eva Scott, “ Temple Peak,” station. «= # * Mrs Elliott, senr., and Miss E, Elliott have left for a holiday in Dunedin and Wellington. & * * Mr W. Fraser (Royal Bush), has been the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Fraser, s= «= * Mrs L. Veint (Paradise House), has returned from a few days spent in Queenstown. ® ■» * Mrs Buchan (Queenstown), spent the week-end recently with Mr and Mrs L. Veint (Paradise). o © ® Mrs D. Scott, “ Rees Valley ” station, is away on holiday at present. * » 9 Mrs Barrowman has returned home after a serious illness. * 9 9 Mr Carr, senr., Christchurch, has been the guest of Mr and Mrs Fergie Heffernan, Rees Valley. $ # 9 Mr and Mrs George Vernon, jun,, have returned from a holiday spent in Dunedin and Heriot. * * * Mr W. R. Hume spent a few days in Queenstown recently. & * * Mr and Mrs George Reid have returned home. ■» * Miss Shirley Groves, Kinloch, has returned from holidays spent in Gore and Dunedin. * * * Mr L. Smith and Roland have returned from a few days spent in Dunedin recently. 9 * * Mr J. Forbes, after a serious illness, has returned home.
VALEDICTORY A dance recently held by the residents of the district in the Public Hall to hid farewell to Mr and Mrs J. Craig and family was well attended. Excellent music w'as supplied by Mr and Mrs Heffornan (piano and guitar), and Mr J. Robinson (drums and effects). At a suitable interval Mr T. Bryant (Kinloch), addressed the gathering and spoke in plowing terms of Mr and Mrs Craig's sterling qualities, and that one and all were sorry to see them leaving the district to take up residence in Alexandra, but wished them well in their new venture. He handed them a monetarv gift from the residents. Mr Craig suitably replied.
Mr J. Wylie acted as master of ceremonies. An excellent supper, provided by the ladies, was handed round, and a most enjoyable function concluded by singing “Auld Lang Syne ” and “ God Save the King.”
NEW OWNERSHIP Mr and Mrs Clarkson and family (Miller’s Flat), have take over the Mount Earnslaw Hotel, and it is the desire of the residents that their stay here shall he prosperous and happy. Mr and Mrs Sands and small daughter Susan have taken up residence in Glenorchy, Mr and Mrs I. Thompson have taken over Mount Earnslaw Station.
