LAUNDRY
[to the editor, j
SIR, — When I arrived here a month ago I was surprised to find that no public laundry was in existence in a fairly large town like Helensville. There should be ample scope here in this line of business for soina enterprising person, especially as the city laundries do not care about accepting country work, I am told. In conversation with a resident he informed me that a few years ago a Chinaman opened a laundry here, but after a few weeks* trial he had to close up owing to lack of business. But conditions are different now, and I am confident that a good living could be made out of such a business. Let someone try it —white, yellow or black, the colour doesn't mutter, but the convenience does. —Yours, etc.,
Limp Collar
[A rumour has been current that a public laundry is to be opened in Helensville shortly.j
