HELENSVILLE CLQB
The annual meeting of the above club was held on Tuesday, October 18th. There were about fifteen members present, Mr T. D. Johnson presiding.
The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed.
The finances of the club were considered to be in a good state. Material and other expenses brought the expenditure to over £70 last* season. Subscriptions came in., fairly well, and twq benefit picture entertainments given by the Lyric management helped the funds considerably. It was considered advisable to endeavour to reduce the bank overdraft (£SO) this season.
The following officers were elected :—
President, Dr. Meinhold ; vicepresidents, Messrs Jas. Stewart, F. L. Hodges, M. Wilkins, J. H, Cheshire, E. R. Baddiley, and A. M. Stirling.
Ground Committee : Messrs M, Matheson (chairman), Johnson, Sims, Jull, Cullens, Callow, and Strange.
Management Committee; The ground committee and secretary and treasurer.
Club Captain: Mr F-W,Strange, Selection Committee; Messrs Johnson and Matheson,
Secretary
Mr 0, J, Claridge
Treasurer : Mr J. K. Stewart,
The following new members were elected : Messrs 0. Sims, F. F. Heldt, E. Tibbits, H. Mather, E, Cavanagh, E. R. Baddiley, and E. Jull.
• It was decided that the subscription remain, the same as last season, viz., £\.
Resolved to procure some new material, including a practice net.
It was proposed by Mr Joknson (on similar lines to last year) that the headmaster of the Helensville school be asked to select three best all-round players among the schoolboys, to entitled to free membership qf thp club.,—Garried,
A vote of thanks to the chairman and to Mr Cullens"(for use of room) concluded the meeting.
