TOUR OF THE NORTH

A tour of the North, embracing all the settlements of importance was recently made by Messrs A. E. Diprose, C. B. Snelllng, H. Dye, and W. Stevens. The journey was commenced atKaukapakapa and the route followed was practically identical with that xtaken by the Parliamentary Party tour in 1917. Waiwera Warkworth, Wellsford, Maungaturoto, Waipu, Whangarei, Kawakawa. Whangaroa, Mangonui, Kaitaia, Kohukohu, back to Whangarei, across to Dargaville, Mititai, Ruawai, Paparoa, back to Wellsford, Port Albert and through Glorit was the route followed. The journey occupied a week. Some of t':e roads traversed were described as being very good, but others were less than roads, and some of the bridge approaches were down about a foot from the bridge planking. The tour,, which was made in Mr Diprose's Ford car, was accomplished without a mishap of any description.
