MR J. JONES' MARKET REPORT. We have put through this week (ending April 2) an enormous quantity of produce and fruit, also fencing wire, barb wire, asbestos, and corrugated iron. The market generally shows an easing tendency. Potatoes are coming forward in heavy supply. Fruit in good supply, market firm. Poultry was in short supply, and values have firmed. Pigs show no change in value. Butter and eggs selling wel). *As we are receiving a large cousignment <tf^jfcncing wire and corrugated iron next week, we are prepared to accept orders at to-day's auction prices. The grain market shows no change. Bran and pollard are in short supply. "■-Grass seed is still in heavy demand, and for general lines we are still putting through a large quantity of orders. Values about on par with last sale. We quote : Poultry—Hens, prime, 5s to 6s 3d, good 48 3d to 4s lOd, light 2s 6d to 3s 3d ; ducks 4s 3d to 5s 9d, drakes 3s 9d to 4s 6d; geese 4s to 5s 6d; turkey gobblers 9s 6d to 14s, hens 7s to 9s 3d ; roosters, prime 6s to 8s 3d, good 4s 9d to 6s. Pigs, 8s to 10s 9d.
