FENWICK NEWELL

A musical treat was provided those who attended the Fenwick Newell recital at the Lyric Theatre on Friday evening last. Mr Newell, a tenor singer of rare ability and charm, greatly delighted his audience, who slowed their appreciation of his many offerings in a most hearty manner. Aruong the many beautiful items rendered by that artist, "Aye Maria" (with violin obligato) and "I Hear You Calling Me " probably found most favour with the audience, who demanded imperative encores to every item given. Mi=>s Hober's violin playing was an added pleasure, all of her beautiful offerings being listened to with rapt attention. Mrs Newell, the accompanist of the party, was also greatly appreciated.
