ENTERTAINMENTS

The Catholic social held on Wednesday evening of. last week proved very enjoyable, and there was a good attendance considering the very rough night. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs Hunt (a useful afternoon tea-sot) and Mr J. Stanaway (an unbrella). Dancing and. supper topped off an enjoyable evening. The next social will be the last of the season.

The star picture at Everybody's on Saturday evening next features Marearet Clark in "Come Out of the Kitchen," a comedy-drama of exceptional merit. The supports are all of a high standard, and patrons are assured of a good evening's entertainment.

The social held last' evening by the Church of England Ladies' Guild was well attended, and was quite as enjoyable as its predecessors. Euchre prizes were won by Mrs Malligan and Mr Osman (who played off) and consolations were given Mrs Campbell and Mr Curtis. Supper in plenty was provided, and dancing was indulged in till a late hour

The Presbyterian Church are holding a sale of work, etc, in the Star Theatre, on Saturday, December 11th.

The Helensville A. and P. Association will hold a social and euchre tournament in the Agricultural Hall on Thursday evening next, October 28th.

The Church of England Ladies' Guild intend holding a bazaar towards; the end of November, and in connection with this a meeting is called for Wednesday next, October 27th, at the Vicarage.
