ASTRAS, THE MARVELLOUS
The " telepathic " act of Astras, to be seen at the Lyric on Saturday evening next, has created unusual interest elsewhere, and surprised even the sceptic*. This young woman makes no pretentious display, assumes no air« of portantious mystery, but in the most casual, careless fashion, she answers almost anything put to her. Most habitues of the music halls are familiar with the essentials at any rate of the code system, by which such acts are reputed to be worked,; but any such code postulates that a confederate working among the audience ■hall b« apprised of the nature of th c information demanded. How then explain by such means the feat which Astras has performed nightly of answering questions written on folded slips of paper, which her assistant diplays without opening. The ether big attraction is 'Sylvester, the master wizard, whose extraordinary feats of mystery have amazed audiences throughout the world. Both these great attractions appear at the Lyric on Saturday evening.
