FOOTBALL

Senior and junior games were played at Helensville on Saturday last, and a senior game also took place on the Parakai ground. The attendances at both grounds were satisfactory, and points to a growing interest in football on the part of the local public.

At Parakai Helensville seniors met and defeated the Maori team by 6 points to nil, after a hard and even game. For the winners R, Hinton scored a try aid Mouatt kicked a penalty goal. Mr J. Downer refereed the game.

Waimauku and Kaukapakapa met on the Helensville Show Ground, when the first-named team were victorious to the extent of 16 points to nil, chiefly through the efforts of C. Fletcher who scored 13 (three tries, two goals) of the 16 points. Owing, it is stated, to Fletcher having played for an Auckland senior team this season, a protest against his inclusion in the Waimauku fifteen has been entered by the Kaukapakapa teani. Helensville and Parakai juniors played a drawn game, 8 points being scored by each, The Parakai junior team to play Helensville juniors at the Show Ground on Saturday next at 3 p.m., will be chosen from the following players:—O. Bradly, M. Montgomery, Tiri Waa, W. Bradly, H. Gray, L-. C. Smith, D. McCarthy, V. Aitkenhead, P. Roff, L. McLaren,; G. Grey, W. Smith, A. PenneH, A. Hanson, D. Vercoe, H. Pudney, D. Walker, B.
