ENGINEER'S REPORT.
At the last meeting of the Waitemata County Council the engineer, Mr Gerald A. Jackson, reported as follows :— —Overhanging Trees — - "In recommending at last meetLaß that certain occupiers of land at Heleajß ville be required to lower their treafl overhanging the road, I omitted H trees on section 8 and 9, Block Xljß Kaipara Survey District, occupied bylH Hansen. I recommend that Mr Hans^B be ordered to reduce these trees iH height to 15 feet, and to trim them haH to the road boundary." !H The recommendation was adopted, -2tH on Cr McLeod's recommendation aH trees on the properties of Albert Hana^B and Mr Sheffield were added. ifl —Parkhurst Drain — jfl "An old home-made agreement <aH specting this drain has come to ligijH from which it appears that it was «H intention of the Council, together wiJM ■other beneficiaries, to keep the draSß cleaned out. This is a resolution of t<kl Council, dated June 2, 1893, whii limits the Council's liability to £3, anfl this amount has been expended long ago| All the parties to the agreement, excepjl one, are either dead or have left thjj district. It seems to me that MeasrJ Craven and Farrell should m^ve in tha direction of having a fresh agreement! made. In the meantime, the onus ci keeping the drain cleaned out is a them." This matter was deferred for a mont to give Cr McLeod, the member for th Mairetahi Riding, in which the drain/ i, situated, an opportunity to make a^ rangements to have it settled. —"News.1!
