HELENSVILLE SCHOOL.
COMMITTEE MEETING
THE Helensyille School Committee held a meeting on July 10th., when Mr E. T. Field occupied the chair. Other members present were: Messrs A. Becr^T \ L. L. Bailey, H. ThompsonJ^»\^_; The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and accounts were passed for payment. , SCHOOL CONFERENCE ,H On the motion of Mr E. T. Field, seconded by Mr Thompson: It was decided that the Secretary write to the Henderson School Committee thanking them for the information in reference to L the conference to be held in Auckland on July 28th, and that if it can be arranged a delegate from Helensville will attend. PROPOSED SWIMMING BATH Messrs Becroft and Bailey reported having gone into the matter of a swimming bath in the school ground for use of the children, and produced an estimate of the approximate cost. The cost for the erection of a bath 15ft by 50ft or 20ft by 40ft was £150. On the motion of Mr Field, seconded by Mr Bradly—Messrs Bailey and Becroft were accorded a vote of thanks for the trouble they had taken to work out the estimates, and on the motion of Mr Thompson seconded by Mr Bradly, it was resolved—That subscription lists be sent out and one supplied to each member of the Committee and any others who would undertake collecting money for the purpose. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Kalaugher, secretary of the Technical School, Auckland, and ascertain what assistance the Board of Educa- ' tion would be likely to give towards the erection of a swimming bath. . IMROVEMENTS WANTED It was resolved that the Town Board be asked to improve the path between the primary and technical schools. ;" VISITING COMMITTEE'MessrsSkelton and Smith were appointed the visiting committee men for the ensuing month.
