NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING.

When Mr Harry Bradly, accompanied by his brother. George, was proceeding on his way homeward from Waiwera to Helensville on Sunday last, he became unseated from his horse whilst wading through a flooded part of the road. The swift current carried him against a tree, and he managed to catch hold 'of one of the branches, In the meantime the horse came drifting along, and Mr Bradly seized the opportunity of catching hold of the horse's tail, and, after struggling in the water for about fifteen minutes, both fortunately reached • the land. The party returned to Waiwera ' where a change to dry clothes was most acceptable.
