EASTER CARNIVAL.

A COMMITTEE meeting in connection with the HelensvilieParakai Patriotic Carnival was held in Stewart's sample room on Thursday evening, 15th inst., there being an attendance of nineteen.

The following were appointed a sub-committee, with power to add to their number, to control the sports, viz., Messrs W. W. L. Bradly, T. Elliott, H. Graham, H. P. McLeod, Jas. McLeod, L. McLeod, Jno. Nicholl, and W. R'.mmer. Mr R. J. Walters and SergtMajor Stokes were appointed marshals for the procession, subject to their approval.

It was decided to invite Mr A. J. Entrican, Deputy-Mayor of Auckland, to attend and judge the procession.

It was also decided to invite Mr Jas. Phillips, of Auckland, to judge the horse events.

Mr Aitkenhead was appointed judge for the foot races. Mr McLeod to judge the tossing the caber ; and Mr T. Elliott and the Pipe-Major to judge the Highland dancing.

The matter of procuring the posters and concert tickets was left in the hands of Messrs Garry and Stringer. The following were appointed to look after ticket office and doors, subject to their approval: Messrs H. White and M. Hafford for concert, and Messrs W. H. Coulter, J. Constable and C. Russell for pictures.

Tickets for concert to be 1/6 front seats, and 1/- for back seats ; and tickets for pictures 1/to all parts of the Hall.

It was decided to ask the following to take charge of the gates at the Show Ground for the Sports: Messrs M-Hafford, J. Hanson, J. Mills, and W. Reyland. Also" to ask Mr S. Watson if he will take charge of the copper for the ladies.

The matter of procuring a fat lamb for the weight-guessing competition was left in the hands of Messrs Rimmer and White.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held in Stewart's sample room on Thursday, 29th March.
