WAITEMATA SHOW.
SUCCESSFUL GATHERING AT \VAIWERA. , THE twelfth annual show organised by the Waiternata A. and P. Association was held at Waiwera on Saturday last, 10th mat, There wa.§ a big attendance, ■JL^TtEo"G]E:h the recent heavy rains had jQtftm&de th& roads a proposition that only these sturdy producing folks would care to tackle. The Show attracted visitors from as far north as Wellsford, Matakana, and Warkworth, and as far south as Pukekohe. The weather was fine for the greater part of the day. : ' particularly good entries were recorded^ in the "sheep, exhibits.' ' The judges were' of opinion that all classes Were fit to compete at any Show, the Lincolns coming in for special comirjendation. Mr M. Schedewy's champion jam got the red ribbon. ''The cattle exhibit's showed a marked improvement on previous years, while the horses, though few in number, were excellent in quality. Mr H. Aitkenhead, of Parakai, gained ~a couple of first prizes in this section, viz., best maie or gelding, and champion draught. The t3iit exhibits wore seriously affected by the difficulties of transport, ihany exhibitors lie ing unable to 'get through ' where the :roa.H hava been destroyed by Hoods.
