AWAROA BOWLING CLUB'S CONCERT.

The promoters -of the ahove are to be congratulated on the successful entertainment held in Stewart's Theatre on Friday evening last, Ist inst. There was a large and appreciative audience, who listened with pleasure to the talent that made up an excellent programme. Most of the artists came from Auckland, Mr H. White, junr., being the only local performer!. Mr G, co. barren, in his impersonating items, c^uspd th^e' audience tq roar wij;H laughter, and callgd' fqrth,' repeated applause and encores with each item. He was especially good at recitations in Scotch dialect. In the sketch "Me and Gott," Mr Warren impersonated the Kaiser to great effect, the gesture and jikgness being splendid. Mrs B,lanclj.field (piano), and her sqn (violin) gave the audience some of the sweetest mus,ic one could wish to hear. Mr Blanchfield's execution "qn the violin is of np mean order. Mrs Bellini rendered, several voGaJ items in excellent style, and. was rer peatedly encored, Mrs Miller also gave a couple of very nice songs, and was loudly apapplauded in "Could we Recall." Mr H. White did justice to that good old song " The Tar's Farewell," which was greatly appreciated. At the conclusion Mr A. J. Hill, on behaf of the Club, thanked the audience for their attendance, and also the performers for 'rijaking the evening such a decided success. *-■■•-•■ An appeal was made by Mr W&rren for funds, the monsy to go towards a Returned' Soldiers' Home to be erected in Auckland. Ha£s were taken round ancT the sum of £,4 9s 5d was collected. Mr Warren thanlced' the Gontribqtqr-s and made up the amount himseif to £5.

The Hall was then cleared for dancing, and although ths niglit was warm, quite a Jarge number indulged in this delightful pastime. " '
