THE NATIONAL RESERVE
AUCKLAND HIGHLAND UNIT,
At the annual meeting ,of the Highland unit of the National Reserve, it was unanimously decided to continue the work of the organisation. The report stated that the work for the year had been very successful. Several week-end camps had been held, all of which had been a great success, including two held on Private T. Elliott's farm at Helensville.. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to Private Elliott, to Major Turley and officers of the Helensville district for kindness and services during the unit's stay at Helensville. The membership of the unit, it was stated, had been greatly reduced through enlistments in the Expeditionary Force, about forty- members having joined. The value of the training received in the unit was shown by the fact that a large percentage had been appointed non-com-missioned officers, whilst at least four had obtained commissions.
