GOLF NOTES.
HELENBVILLE GOLF CLUB' —Ladies' Competitions— THE following cards were returned in the ladies' competition for a club presented by Mr H. W. Stringer :— Mrs . Peacock, net score 141; Miss McLoughlin, 146; Mrs Elliiot, 148; Miss Rimmer, 163 ; Mrs Stringer, 195. The Committee hope that m the next ladies' competition the entries will be much more numerous. —Gent's Competitions— In the gent'a competition for Mr Osmond's club the best cards returned were:— E. O. McLeod, 153; M. Robson, 160; P. Rose, 165 ; A. J. Hill, 165 ; J. A. Wilson, 180 ; H. W. Stringer, 191; J. Carter, 200. It has been decided to hold a gent's championship, the first round of which must be ' played on or before September 23. The draw may be seen in the Clubhouse, and it is hoped that all players | will endeavour ta get their matche played by closing dates. —Dominion Day Competitions— I There is a prospect of a team of Auckland golfers playing the local team • on Dominion Day, September 25.
