FAREWELL SOCIAL
A very enjoyable eveniug parly was given by Mr and Mrs Geraghty at their residence on Monday last. The guest of the evening was Private P. E. Smith, who is on the eve of his departure to Trentham, for training. The time was passed pleasantly, chiefly in dancing. Miss Elvin kindly officiated at the piano, extras being played by Mr T. W. Hooper. Songs were rendered at intervals by Mrs E. E. Smith, Miss Elviu, and Mr Geraghty ; arid piano solos were given by Misses A. McMillan, M. Flynn, and M. Geraghty. A most delicious supper was partaxen of, after which Mr T. W. Hooper, on behalf of those present, wished Private Smith every success in his military career. He felt sure that if he (Pnvato Smith) got a Turx or German down, he would give him a bad time, aud felt sure that he would in every way uphold the honour of the Empire. Private Snrth suitably responded. Mr and Mrs Geraghty are to be congratulated on the gr« at huccess of their entertainment.
