MILKING.
The milking season is again commencing, and it is common to see cows with their little calves being driven home for the good that they will do. Cattle all look well, and the season should be a bright one for all concerned. FARMS CHANGING HANDS. After being some 50 years here Mr H. M. Hudson has sold his farm and is now going to live in Auckland. Mr Kennedy, of Auckland, is the purchaser, and we hope that he will get on well. He is building a fine up-to-date place for milking operations, etc. Mr Goodwin's place at Pukunui has been sold again, and the buyer has already settled there. May he and his family do well too. FAREWELL SOCIALS. A farewell sooial was held in the Kaukapakapa Hall last Wednesday evening for Mr H. C. Henley. He has been in the training camp, and hopes to leave for Europe with the 17th. We wish him '" God a^eed,*' A large number of people were present, and a pleasant evening was spent. Games wore indulged in, interspersed with musical items, A farewell sooial to Mr and Mrs H. M. Hudson is to. be held next Thursday afternoon. Mr Hudson has spent 50 years here, and Mrs Hudson arrived as a bride about \ 6 years ago. They have lived on the same farm at Kaukapakapa ever since, and they will leave many friends behind them. All the guests at the farewell social on Thursday will pay 6d, which will go to the Ladies' Patriotic Fund. The function is public, and all are welcome, a presentation will be made.
