KAIPARA FLATS.
[BY A CORRESPONDENT]
MOVING AHEAD
The district is steadily progressing. The N.A. Farmers' Co.-op., Ltd., opened their new saleyards recently, when they had a very successful sale, there being a full yarding, and almost everything changed hands at satisfactory prices. It is intended to hold sales monthly. The 15-acre recreation ground is being cleared of tea-tree and scrub (which has been an eyesore to the place), and is being ploughed and put down in grass, which will be a great improvement. N A new house is being erected for Mr E. Adolph, junr.; also a butcher's shop for Mr W. G. Adolph. FAREWELLS. Two farewell socials to soldiers have been held recently. One soldier was Mr E. Martin, eldest son of Mr J. D. Martin; the other soldiers were Messrs E. and G. Vipond, sons of Mr Alfred Vipond. All were presented with wristlet watches. PRESENTATION. On Friday evening last a smoke concert was held to bid farewell to Guard. C. Noedl, who is leaving these parts for Franxton Junction. During the evening Mr Noedl was presented with a purse of sovereigns and a silver-mounted pocket book.
