ANZAC DAY AT PARKHURST

ANZAO Day was observed at Parkhurst School on April 20, when a fair attendance of parents and children were present. Mr Gordon Cootes, M.P., attended, although asked at very short notice, and with no little inconvenience ;to himself, he promptly gave the promise that if possible he would be there, and arrived, accompanied by a friend, and gave a most instructive and impressive address to all present. On his departure the Chairman called for three cheers for Mr and Mrs Coates and family, meeting with a hearty response. The ceremony being over, the pupils were well supplied with lollies, provided by Mr Tom Graven, and the Chairman, Mr R. Nicholls.
