New Note to Greece — Many Servians Cross Border — Italians to Land in Albania — Strength of French Lines The allies have replied to the Greek Note, formulating; fresh proposals, which Greece is considering. Many Servians have entered Greece, and have not been disarmed. It is unofficially reported that Greece continues ,to offer to re-embark the allies' troops under the protection of the Greek army. ■ The Italian Chamber of Deputies approved the Government's jjbpticy, after the Premier had
stated that the most active assistance was necessary to achieve saccess. A . newspaper report states that the Italians will soon land in Albania.
In the last important action in the Champagne the Germans used gas and flaming, liquid and launched two divisions against the French positions-. The attack melted away under machine-gun fire, and is said to have convinced the Germans that the French lines were too strong for a general offensive.
Another demonstration against the scarcity of. food has taken place in Berlin. Soldiers fired into the crowd. It is reported that 200 persons were, killed and hundreds wounded.
A remarkable manifesto is being secretly distributed by the Austrian Socialist Party. It states that Austria can only live by the ruin of the Hapsburgs, and that the Socialists want, not war, but revolution.
