DEFENCE NOTES

The usual parades of the Helensville Platoon Kaipara Defence Rifle Club, for Thursday and Saturday, will take place this week.

Captain Turley left for Whangarei on Monday last.

All members of the Helensville Platoon who are desirous of attending the Group Rifle Meeting on the Bth December, are requested to give their names to the Q.M.S. on Thursday evening, so that necessary arrangements can be made. .

Sergt.-Major Neel, formerly of this area, returned invalided by the Wolochra. He was badly wounded. * # *

Private George Niccol, of the 15th Regiment, is at present in Malta Hospital. He had been in the firing line since the landing at Gallipoli.

A compulsory parade of all Cadets of the 64th Company will be held at the Defence Office at 6 p.m., November 26th.
