Allies in the Balkans — Strong Force to be Sent — Bulgarians Lose 20,000 Men — Russian Advance near Riga
There are indications that Russia is sending a large contingent to Macedonia.
It is reported that a Bulgarian division of over 20,000' men has been annihilated. The Bulgarians are said to have evacuated Petrich and Melnik. Several Bulgarian regiments have mutinied. It is reported that the German efforts +0 reach Dvinsk have cost them 80,000 casualties. On the front from Riga to Mitau t|he Russians have thrown the Germans back beyond the River Aa, which enters the Gulf of Riga 20 . miles west of Riga.
Three German night attacks with grenades at Bois en Hache, north-east of Souchez, have been repulsed. Allied airmen raided a German aviation ground near Chateau Salins.
